We're located right around the corner from Todos Santos Plaza in Concord, California—a city full of fun and adventure. All of our beers are brewed on-site and served to you as fresh as possible in our taproom and spacious outdoor beer garden. We take pride in every beer we pour, and hope you pay us a visit sometime soon (kids and pets are always welcome ). Remember, friends don't knock--so come on in through the Side Gate!
And a little about our founders…
Side Gate was founded by two Bay Area natives, Kevin Wilson and Paul Culbertson, who met as coworkers and bonded over their love of craft beer and homebrewing. A mutual dream to open up a brewery was cemented through a business plan and the decision to leave their office jobs to follow their true passion.
Kevin’s brewing roots date back to his earliest years, watching and assisting his dad homebrew on the weekends. By the time he was “of-age,” Kevin was crafting and perfecting his own brews inspired by the great breweries up and down the West Coast and beyond. Paul’s brewing journey started with the gift of a homebrewing starter kit. He was quickly hooked on the artistry and process of brewing - honing his craft through research, brewing courses, and constant experimentation. The never-ending pursuit of a “perfect” beer drives Kevin and Paul to put their heart into everything they brew.
